  1. What is plagiarism 
  • student unintentionally guilty  
  • without authorization 
  • by not crediting the original author
   
 2. Example of plagiarism
  • turning in someone else's work as your own
  • copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
  • failing to put a quotation in quotation mark 
  • giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
  • changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit 
  • copying many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your words whether you give credit or not

A) Planning your paper
  • consult your lecture or your instructor
  • plan your paper
  • take effective note

B) Writing your paper
  • cite sources
  • make it clear who said what
  • know how to phrase
  • evaluate your sources
  • include a reference page
